This past Saturday (August 29), your San Rafael Neighborhoods Association (SRNA) and Pasadena Fire Department Station 39 teamed up to serve a Pancake Breakfast for our neighbors. What began as a simple idea became a transformational event for the community. The event was scheduled from 8:30am to 10:30am. By 8:45am, the line stretched the length of the firehouse and outside onto Avenu4 64. The brave firefighters were flipping pancakes and roasting sausages as fast as they could. Kids (and some adults) were able to climb into the fire engine and get pictures in addition to getting their own toy fire chief hat that they decorated with stickers. Following the Pancake Breakfast, kids walked over to San Rafael Park, where Station 38 (Linda Vista) connected their truck to the fire hydrant and doused the kids with a cannonlike spray into the air. Approximately 250 neighbors attended and connected with each other. Councilman Madison, Chief Chad Augustin and many other senior officials from Pasadena Fire mingled with the neighbors enhancing strong relationships with our San Rafael neighborhood.

SRNA is very grateful for the partnership with Station 39. As a result of donations made at the breakfast, SRNA is proud to make a $1,000 donation to the Pasadena Fireman’s Relief Association. SRNA looks forward to our 2nd annual Pancake Breakfast in 2027!
