Pasadena Fire Department has a new Chief. City Manager Michael Beck announced the appointment of Bertral “Bert” Washington as the new Chief for the Pasadena Fire Department.  Chief Washington will become the department’s 17th confirmed fire chief in its 126 year history. He will start his tenure effective Dec. 15, 2014.

Chief Washington was Fire Chief at Clark County Fire Department in Nevada, where he has been Fire Chief since 2010.  Clark County serves the Las Vegas area and McCarran International Airport.  Bert was promoted through the ranks as a firefighter, paramedic, training officer, Captain, Battalion Chief and Assistant Chief.

Mr. Beck stated that Chief Washington embraces a collaborative leadership style and his experience leading a complex organization made him a top choice for the Pasadena Fire Department.

Chief Washington will be responsible for eight fire houses and about 180 fire department personnel.

SRNA welcomes Chief Washington and looks forward to working together with him.

“Spark of Love” Toy Drive 2014

Toy Drive Photo

SRNA is pleased to support and sponsor the Pasadena Fire Department’s “Spark of Love” Toy Drive. Over the past two decades, Southland Firefighters and KABC Channel 7 have collected more than 7.5 million toys distributed throughout five counties to children who would otherwise not have toys on Christmas morning.

Our local Pasadena Fire Department now aims to beat its record of 8,000 toys in a single year from all of its fire houses and selected locations throughout Pasadena.

This year, let’s make it 10,000!

You can make a difference right here in Pasadena.

Bring a smile to a child on Christmas Day by donating a new, unwrapped toy, sports equipment or gift card to any of Pasadena’s Fire Stations (listed below).

You can donate through December 24.
